"I’m Jim Knox. I was born in West Ham. I joined the army when I was 16. I joined the Buffs Royal East Kent Regiment. I was in the Buffs for a year. Then in 1942 I volunteered for the new unit, the Parachute Regiment. The training was really, really tough...."

Jim Knox

During the Second World War, Jim Knox served with the 4th Parachute Battalion. He was assigned to Brigade HQ and spent his time in Italy in a small troop interrogating prisoners and gathering intelligence. This short film has been created for a VE Day celebratory series called 'Home'. Special thanks to the Royal British Legion for making it happen.
