The Secret War: Spooks Spies Videotape

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world - Nelson Mandela

Legasee partnered with the Marylebone Church of England school in London to create a series of KS4 educational resources.

Packed with interesting facts, creative activities and interviews with WWII veterans, they provide opportunities for pupils to creatively explore Britain's secretive WWII.

The five sets of learning materials tackle a different subject each;

What was the Secret War?, Women at War, Home Front, In Europe and the Wider World, and the Role of Oral History.

Within each session you will find links to video interviews and we hope you will enjoy hearing their first-hand testimony which brings to life some of the incredible stories of WWII.

"I lost complete consciousness, I think I died there [laughs]. I woke up in the morning at 5 o’clock in a sort of a coffin made of ice."

Bob Maloubier DSO MBE,
SOE Agent

They are available to download and use with your learners – they include individual, pair and group tasks, research and written work, homework and family involvement.

Our resources are all provided free of charge, and whilst they remain the intellectual property of Legasee Educational Trust, we would be delighted if you would download, print off, photocopy and use in the way that best suits your learning and teaching styles.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO CONSIDER THIS
Legasee is one of the first consolidated attempts to document the war-time experiences of men and women who have served their country.  While remembrance ceremonies and battle anniversaries are regularly reported on TV,  this coverage rarely focuses on veterans’ personal experiences for more than a few seconds and is of limited value as an educational tool or a record of individual achievement. Legasee aims to cover military life in much more depth by focusing on personal stories and viewpoints. If you think this work is important, please consider a donation. PLEASE DONATE NOW
