249 Sqn comprised 200 people with 22 pilots and 18 aircraft & no matter how many planes might be lost one day, by the following lunchtime they'd be up to full strength again. This level of organisation and supply was key to Britain's success during the Battle.  When the Luftwaffe lost a plane it was invariably over our soil and never recovered.
